Best Ghirardelli Chocolate Chunk Cookies

We love Ghirardelli chocolate, so it was time to find an excellent recipe that uses two main ingredients: Ghirardelli chocolate chips, AND Ghirardelli chocolate chunks.

I know, i know. It’s a lot of chocolate, but these cookies are to die for! Try for yourself…


2 1/4 cups unsifted flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional) or 1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
1 (11 ounce) bag Ghirardelli double chocolate chips
1 package of semi-sweet Ghirardelli chocolate


1 Preheat oven to 375°.
2 Stir flour with baking soda and salt, set aside.
3 In large mixing bowl, cream butter with sugar, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla.
4 Gradually blend dry mixture into creamed mixture.
5 Stir in nuts, chocolate chips, and chocolate chunks.
6 Drop tablespoon of dough per cookie onto ungreased cookie sheets.
7 Bake at 375° for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown.
